NeighbourWood Communities is a climate infrastructure platform developing net-zero woodland communities across Ireland. Our innovative 50/50 model dedicates half of every development site to high-performance homes and half to permanently protected native woodland — creating thriving ecosystems alongside affordable housing.
Every NeighbourWood home achieves A-rated BER performance through integrated energy systems: rooftop solar PV, ground-source heat pumps, home battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure. This delivers annual energy savings of €2,600-3,900 for residents while contributing to Ireland’s climate and biodiversity targets.
Founded by Neal and Esther Anderson, who are relocating from the US to live in the first community they build, NeighbourWood demonstrates that sustainable development can be profitable, scalable, and exportable.
